- Department of Political Science graduate student Laia Balcells was awarded a 2009 ASN Best Doctoral Student Papers Award in Nationalsim Studies for her paper Explaining Civilian Victimization During Internal Conflict: A Comparative Approach to Conventional Civil Wars.
